The School Education Bill proposes to abolish the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
Such a proposal has been made in the bill which was approved to be sent to the Federal Parliament by the Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday.
The school structure has a basic level (classes 1–8) and a secondary level (classes 9–12).
According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology formula, the right to conduct the final examination of the basic level (class 8) will be vested in the local level and the right to conduct the final examination of the secondary level (class 12) will be vested in the National Examination Board, but it is proposed to abolish the SEE.
It is proposed that the examination of class 10 will be conducted by the respective schools.
SLC exam started in Nepal since 1990 and its name was SEE from 2073.
