Birgunj Metropolitan City has decided to close schools for six days again after the extreme heat wave persisted.
The metropolis had earlier decided to grant two-day summer vacation on Jestha 29 and 30. Even after the vacation ended, the temperature here has not decreased, so it has been decided to grant school vacation from Asad 1 to Asad 6.
Anand Lamichhane, Chief of the Educational Administration Division of Birgunj Metropolitan City, said that in view of the increasing heat wave over the past few days, it has been decided to suspend teaching in community and institutional schools from Asad 1 to Asad 6 to minimize the adverse effects that may be had on the health of children. “The vacation has been granted to match the annual Satte vacation,” he said.
