
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Pant has claimed that the ‘Bill to Amend and Unify the Laws Related to School Education-2080’ will be passed by the Federal Parliament, House of Representatives, by Ashad 15.
At the ‘Consultation Program on Early Childhood Development’ organized by the Collaboration and Coordination Group of Federal MPs for Early Childhood Development here today, he mentioned that he is working intensively to pass the bill.
Minister for Education Pant said, “The Education Bill addresses the legitimate demands of everyone, work is being done accordingly, the bill will be passed by the House of Representatives by Ashad 15.” He also informed that the ministry is working on matching posts and merging schools to address the demands of teachers in the bill.
He said that the agreements reached between the government and teachers in the past will also be included in the bill as much as possible. Minister for Education Pant said, “We should keep amending the law in line with the times, and we should keep addressing it according to the needs of the era.” He said that the essence of the constitution and the demands that the economy can support will be addressed.
“On the day the agreement was reached with the teachers, I had publicly stated that the nine-point agreement is a cash deal, and that the agreement will be implemented from the upcoming Shrawan,” Education Minister Pant said, “Their legitimate demands will be addressed.” He mentioned that the government will accept appropriate, scientific and economically viable suggestions on improving the country’s education system.
He said, “We must first be clear on how to include early childhood development in the education system and how to include the development of all children at the policy level.”
Ammar Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of the Education, Health and Information Committee of the House of Representatives, emphasized the need to reform the education system on a priority basis. Kusum Devi Thapa, Chairman of the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee, expressed the view that the government should pay attention to other issues along with early childhood development.
Jeevan Pariyar, Joint General Secretary of the Nepali Congress and member of the House of Representatives, drew the attention of the Education Minister to the need to make a separate act related to early childhood development for the development of children.
