In a situation where the result of Secondary Education Examination Class 10 (SEE) is being criticized, to increase the pass rate, the government has arranged to conduct an internal practical test of 25 numbers in mathematics as well.
In the absence of subject teachers and math labs in government schools, the internal evaluation score in subjects like mathematics does not seem to increase the number of higher grades in SEE results, but the teaching learning and ability of students.
Bishnu Narayan Shrestha, controller of the National Examination Board’s SEE examination, said that in this year’s SEE examination, more than 200,000 students were in the group with less than 1.6 GPA.
“This time, more than 200,000 students were enrolled in D and E groups in SEE,” Controller Shrestha said, “Except for mathematics, the internal evaluation of all compulsory subjects remains at 25 marks. The results of other subjects were good.
In order to connect students’ lives with mathematics, the new curriculum of class 10, which has been recently implemented, has arranged internal evaluation of 25 numbers in mathematics.
Secondary education examination class 10 SEE will have 25 number practical test in mathematics also in the upcoming examination.
With the implementation of the new curriculum from the current academic session, now the school itself has arranged to conduct an internal exam of 25 numbers in mathematics as well, according to the new curriculum.
