
Information regarding interest rate determination for the fiscal year 2082/83 – Employees Provident Fund

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) of Nepal has revised its interest rates for contributors.
According to a recent decision by the EPF Board of Directors, a new annual interest rate of 5 percent has been set for both the Provident Fund and Retirement Fund amounts, effective immediately.
Loan Interest Rates
- Special Loan: 6.25%
- Home, Education, and Home Renovation Loan: 7.25%
- Land Purchase & General Loan: 7.50%
- 0.25% interest discount for regular repayment of mortgage-based loans (excluding special loans)
Loan Limits
- House Construction / Land Purchase: Up to NPR 1 crore
- Home Renovation: Up to NPR 30 lakh
- Educational Loan (self/spouse/children): Up to NPR 40 lakh
- General Loan (emergencies): Up to NPR 60 lakh
- Special Loan: Up to 90% of total deposited balance

Total Contributors
The EPF currently has:
- Approx. 580,000 contributors from civil service, army, police, public institutions, and schools
- Approx. 99,391 other contributors
- Total: 679,391 contributors
