The House of Representatives has passed the long-awaited Federal Civil Service Bill, a crucial piece of legislation designed to regulate the formation, operation, and service conditions of the federal bureaucracy. The bill was approved by a majority vote during Sunday’s session.

The proposal for the bill’s passage was presented by the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Rajkumar Gupta. Having now cleared the lower house, the legislation will be sent to the National Assembly for deliberation.

Once approved by the upper house, the bill will return to the House of Representatives to be certified by the Speaker. It will then be submitted to the President for final verification before being enacted into law.
