The National Examination Board (NEB) has announced that it plans to publish the results of this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) by the third week of the Nepali month of Asar (approximately mid-July).
The publication of the results is expected to be slightly later than last year due to a delay in the checking of answer sheets, which was caused by protests from school-level teachers.
According to Dr. Ganesh Bhattarai, the Controller of Examinations (Grade 10) at the NEB, the evaluation of answer sheets from most districts has been completed, and the marks have been sent to the central office. The process of entering the students’ marks into the computer system is currently in progress.
The Board had initially aimed to release the results within three months of the conclusion of the exams. However, the evaluation process started nearly a month late due to Kathmandu-centric street protests called by the Nepal Teachers’ Federation.
The Board has assured that if the remaining work proceeds as planned, the results will be published within the announced timeframe.
Once the results are published, students can check their grades through various official channels. Here are the common methods:
1. Official Websites:
Visit the official website of the National Examination Board (NEB): www.neb.gov.np
Visit the SEE results website: www.see.gov.np
Students will need to enter their Symbol Number and, in some cases, their Date of Birth.
Several major news portals also publish the results on their websites.
2. SMS Service:
This is a popular method for checking results quickly via a mobile phone.
Compose a new message and type: SEE <space> [Your Symbol Number]
Send the SMS to 1600 (This is the shortcode for Nepal Telecom).
Other telecom providers may also offer this service on different shortcodes, which will be announced by the NEB.
3. IVR (Interactive Voice Response):
Students can also check their results by calling a specific number and following the instructions.
Dial 1600 from any Nepal Telecom (NTC) phone and follow the voice prompts to get your result.
Students are advised to refer to the official notice from the NEB at the time of publication for the definitive list of websites and SMS shortcodes.
