Kathmandu – The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of Nepal has officially released its comprehensive annual calendar for the fiscal year 2081/82, outlining the timeline for teacher recruitment, promotions, and teaching license examinations. The calendar, approved on Shrawan 1, 2081, provides a clear roadmap for aspiring teachers and existing educators seeking career advancement.

Teaching License Examinations Scheduled

A major highlight for aspiring educators is the schedule for the teaching license examinations. According to the calendar:

  • Secondary Level Teaching License: The advertisement will be published in Shrawan, with the examination scheduled for Kartik.
  • Lower Secondary Level Teaching License: The advertisement will be released in Bhadra, and the examination will be held in Mangsir.

Schedule for New Vacancies (Open Competition)

The commission has also set a timeline for announcing new permanent teaching positions (Third Grade) across all three levels:

  • Secondary Level (Madhyamik Taha): The advertisement for vacancies will be published in Mangsir, 2081.
  • Lower Secondary Level (Nimna Madhyamik Taha): Vacancies will be announced in Falgun, 2081.
  • Primary Level (Prathamik Taha): The advertisement is scheduled for Baisakh, 2082.

The calendar indicates that the recruitment process will continue throughout the year, with examinations and result publications staggered for each level.

Promotions and Previous Year’s Recruitment

The process for internal promotions (First and Second Grade) through internal competition (25%) and performance evaluation (75%) will begin with an advertisement in Shrawan. The process is expected to conclude with recommendations in Falgun.

Furthermore, the calendar allocates time to complete the remaining stages of the recruitment processes from the previous fiscal year, including interviews and final recommendations, which are scheduled between Asoj and Falgun.

This detailed calendar aims to streamline the functions of the TSC and provide transparency and predictability for the hundreds of thousands of individuals involved in Nepal’s public education sector. The commission notes that the implementation of the recruitment plan is contingent upon receiving the required teacher quotas from the Center for Education and Human Resource Development.
