Tribhuvan University has prepared to ask questions in both English and Nepali languages for bachelor level.
As most of the campuses are taught in Nepali medium, the university has prepared to ask the question paper in both English and Nepali language after it was raised that the students are not comfortable.
According to Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Dharmakant Banskota, he is studying this as he is thinking of making question papers in both languages from the next academic session at the undergraduate level, but if the question arises that questions should be asked in Nepali as well as mother tongue, it will be our concern how to solve it.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Baskota, while answering the question of the MP in today’s meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives, said, “According to international standards, questions must be made in English, Nepali language can be added to it, but questions cannot be asked in every mother tongue.” There are 123 native languages spoken in the country.
At present, there are 347 thousand 269 students in the country’s largest university, which has 1,124 affiliated and 62 affiliated campuses.
