Students studying in English medium in public schools will get free textbooks from this year.
Since the Janak Shiksha Material Center has started printing English medium textbooks, the students will get free textbooks till the end of Jestha.
It is said that the Curriculum Development Center has prepared printed copies of English medium books and made them available to parents and started printing textbooks. Earlier, students had to buy it from private publications as there were no English medium prints.
The Curriculum Development Center is going to provide the Nepali and English subjects in class 1 to 10 with English translation.
‘My Mathematics’ and ‘Our Serofero’ in Grades 1-3, Mathematics, Science and Technology, General Studies and Human Values Education and Health, Physical and Creative Arts in Grades 4-8 have been translated into English.
Similarly, mathematics, science technology and social studies subjects of class 9-10 have been translated into English.
According to the center, it is estimated that more than 45 thousand sets of English medium books will be required.
The Government of Nepal has been distributing free textbooks of Nepali medium up to class 12 in public schools.
