Due to Lack of Budget, 22 Thousand Former Teachers did not Get Pension

It has been revealed that about 22,000 ex-teachers have not received their pension for the month of chaitra due to insufficient budget.

Out of 50,000 pensioners, only 30,000 teachers have received the amount for the month of chaitra. Bishnu Prasad Kharel, Head of Pension Management Office, said that the budget for the remaining 22,000 pensions is insufficient.

Chief Kharel says that the budget is insufficient because the 15 percent increase in salary by the government will also increase the pension. He says, “While making the budget, it was not expected that the salary/pension would increase.” It came in the middle and increased, that’s why it didn’t reach.

He said that the pension money has yet to be sent to the teachers of 12 districts including Jhapa, Morang, Janakpur, Bhairawa and three districts of the valley.
